The Manager Certification in Food Protection program is a more extensive training that provides food service managers with in-depth knowledge of proper food safety practices for use in their facilities. Since Mar. 1, 2017, each risk level III and risk level IV food service operation and retail food establishment licensed in Ohio is required to have at least one employee obtain the Ohio Manager Certification in food protection. The chosen employee must have supervisory and management responsibility and the authority to direct and control food preparation and service.

The Union County Health Department is happy to provide the Manager Certification in Food Protection course to assist our food service operations in meeting the Ohio Department of Health requirement.
