On Sunday, an additional 5 Union County cases of COVID-19 were reported bringing the total to 36 cases. Additionally, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections reported one inmate at the Ohio Reformatory for Women is currently positive for COVID-19. This is the first case of COVID-19 at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. The case will be included by the Ohio Department of Health in Union County’s case count, but will be delineated out of cases reported by the Union County Health Department per our standard reporting protocols for reportable diseases.

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections is overseeing infection control protocols and testing efforts within the state prisons. To protect our Union County communities, the Union County Health Department is doing the contact tracing for correctional facility staff who may be at increased risk due to exposure who reside within Union County.
